A fire burned half an acre of brush and damaged a house Sunday afternoon in the Beverly Crest area of Los Angeles, authorities said.
The blaze, whose origin is under investigation, started around 4:10 p.m. and was extinguished at 4:58 p.m., said Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Pat Marek. It caused $60,000 in structural damage and $15,000 in property damage to a house with a wood shake roof in the 15300 block of Mulholland Drive, he said.
No one was injured and no other structures were damaged in the fire, which started on a brush-covered hillside adjacent to the house, Marek said.
