Drug Firm Signs Medi-Cal Discount Plan: G. D. Searle & Co. said it agreed to provide a discount on its brand-name drugs prescribed for Medi-Cal patients. In signing the agreement, which also broadens Medi-Cal patients’ access to Searle drugs, the Chicago-based company joins a growing number of pharmaceuticals manufacturers who have agreed to negotiate with state programs to reduce the cost of prescription drugs.
