Robbers struck two more banking institutions Tuesday, escaping with more than $2,600.

A man whom police suspect of committing 14 bank robberies since Aug. 7 walked into the Coast Savings & Loan office at 610 W. Washington St. in Mission Hills at 12:34 p.m. and handed the teller a note that read: “I have a gun. Give me your $100s, $50s and $20s,” said police spokesman Bill Robinson.

The robber, who carried a black wallet-type folder, fled with $784. He was last seen on foot heading south in the 3900 block of Eagle Street, Robinson said.

The man was described as Latino, age 35 to 40, 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-10 inches, weighing about 140 pounds, with black hair. He was wearing a lavender T-shirt and light blue shorts. The man was missing the mustache he wore in earlier photographs by bank cameras, Robinson said.

The robbery took a few minutes. No gun was seen. No injuries were reported.

Police said the man has stolen nearly $11,000 since early August from banks from Pacific Beach to La Mesa. Police have circulated the man’s photograph among area bank employees and offered a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to an arrest.

In the second incident, the Household Bank branch at 2602 Del Mar Heights Road was robbed of $1,900 at 1:08 p.m., Robinson said.

The robber was last seen heading west on foot along Mango Road.

He was described as white, in his 30s, 5-foot-9 and weighing about 160 pounds. He had a mustache and wore dark glasses. He wore a long sleeve tan shirt, blue jeans and a blue cap with a white logo.
