An estimated $1.2-million street rehabilitation project along Huntington Drive has received City Council approval.
Caltrans, which must also approve the project, is expected to announce its decision within the next two weeks, an agency spokesman said.
The council last Wednesday approved the project, for which the federal government will provide 83% of the funding. The rest will come from local gas-tax revenues.
The council approved plans drawn by the city Public Works Department and authorized bidding on the project.
The construction, expected to begin in November, will replace the pavement along Huntington Drive from Alhambra Road to Garfield Avenue. The project is expected to be completed in March.
