South Pasadena : Revitalization Chief Needed
- Share via
The city should hire a full-time professional to oversee its revitalization process, according to a citizen’s advisory group report recently presented to the City Council.
The analysis of the city’s planning and development needs, delivered to the council last Wednesday, also set up broad guidelines for development of commercial, residential and industrial areas of the city.
Balancing preservation of the city’s small-town atmosphere with stronger commercial growth was a prime concern of the 23-member Downtown Revitalization Task Force, which put together the report.
The council commended the 18-page report, which culminated a nine-month effort led by chairman Ivan Karp, a member of the Cultural Heritage Committee. Council members will meet with leaders of the citizens group to explore the proposals.
