Montebello : Preferential Parking OKd on Streets Near Health Spa
- Share via
In response to complaints from residents who live in the neighborhood around the Holiday Spa Health Club, the Montebello City Council on Tuesday unanimously voted to establish preferential parking to keep spa patrons from parking on neighborhood streets.
The council voted 4 to 0 to establish residents-only parking in the 500 block of North Morris Place from 4 to 10 p.m., except weekends and holidays.
Earlier this year, at a raucous council meeting attended by several hundred Holiday Spa patrons and residents, residents complained that the quiet of their neighborhood had been destroyed because the spa had failed to provide adequate patron parking in the Beverly-Wilcox shopping center. Consequently, residents said, spa patrons were constantly cruising their neighborhoods looking for parking, and on more than one occasion had asked Morris Place residents if they could park in their driveways.
The council already has ordered the spa to restripe the parking lot to create more parking spaces.
