WORLD : Gorbachev Sees Added Summit

MOSCOW — Soviet President Mikhail S. Gorbachev told Secretary of State James A. Baker III today that another superpower summit meeting is possible before year’s end.
Baker, winding up a three-day Soviet visit, also took up with Foreign Minister Eduard A. Shevardnadze the remaining roadblocks to arms control treaties the Bush Administration wants to conclude by the end of the year.
Gorbachev, meeting briefly with reporters at a Kremlin session with Baker, Commerce Secretary Robert A. Mosbacher and 15 American business leaders, was asked by the journalists whether there will be another U.S.-Soviet summit in December.
“I think we are going to meet again, if our ministers do not spoil that,” Gorbachev said.
