Four more Army Reserve and National Guard units attached to the U.S. 6th Army have been alerted for possible call-up to active duty. This brings the total number of 6th Army units alerted to 25 in a 12-state region, said a spokesman at the Presidio of San Francisco Army headquarters. The units are the 419th Quartermaster Battalion of Van Nuys; the 224th Transportation Detachment in Sacramento; the 1157th Transportation Detachment in Camp George, Colo., and the 131st Quartermaster Detachment in Grafton, N.D. An alert status does not mean the units are being called to active duty, but that they can be quickly mobilized if a valid need occurs, an Army spokesman said.
