Soviet Diplomat, Wife Defect in Bangladesh

DHAKA, Bangladesh — A Soviet diplomat in Dhaka and his wife have defected and sought political asylum in Bangladesh, police said Thursday.
Victor Tulchinsky, head of the language division in the Soviet cultural center, left his embassy Wednesday with his wife, Anna, and surrendered to police.
