DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A 21-year-old woman has been sentenced to die in the electric chair for the cold execution of a drifter bound to a tree. The killing was videotaped and shown in court.
Deidre Hunt wept, grimaced and bowed her head as Circuit Judge S. James Foxman imposed the death penalty Thursday.
Hunt pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of Mark Kevin Ramsey, 19, and Bryan Chase, 18. Co-defendant Kosta Fotopoulos, her 31-year-old former boss and lover, was also charged with murder and was accused of videotaping Ramsey’s killing last October.
Hunt told the judge that she killed Ramsey to save her own life.
