Hit-Run Suspected as Boy Killed by Truck

PLACENTIA — A 5-year-old Riverside boy visiting relatives here was killed Saturday when he ran out between parked vehicles and was hit by a pickup truck, police said.
Anthony Gonzalez suffered head injuries and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck, Leon Liborio, 22, of Placentia, was arrested on suspicion of a felony hit-and-run after failing to stop and render assistance, police said.
After Liborio left the scene, in the 900 block of West Easton Street, he was chased half a mile by a witness in a second vehicle, who finally escorted Liborio back to the scene, Police Lt. Daryll Thomann said.
