Man Shot and Killed by Off-Duty Deputy

An off-duty sheriff’s deputy fatally shot an unidentified man in Palmdale on Saturday evening after an altercation in a parking lot, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
The man, who was shot in the upper torso, died at a nearby hospital. The deputy was not injured, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said. The spokesman said he could not provide further details of the incident, which occurred at 2106 E. Palmdale Blvd. because the matter was still under investigation.
