HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Vail’s Passing Lifts Crusaders to 26-13 Win

Village Christian High quarterback Mark Vail completed 12 of 28 passes for 118 yards and one touchdown to lead the Crusaders to a 26-13 win over St. Mary’s in a nonleague football game Saturday at Kennedy High.
St. Mary’s Jack Pyc ran 86 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the second half to cut the Crusaders’ lead to 14-7. But Village Christian running back Rick Nickels answered with touchdown runs of four yards and one yard to extend the Crusaders’ lead to 26-7.
