New York City Ballet principal dancer Sean Lavery will teach two classes at the Jimmie DeFore Dance Center in Costa Mesa on Sept. 29. The 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. classes are open to local dance students; cost per class is $15. Reservations are required by Sept. 26. Information: (714) 241-9908. Meanwhile, 16 New York City Ballet dancers will demonstrate movement technique and present excerpts from the company’s repertory for 3,000 Orange County schoolchildren on Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. The program is being funded with a $25,000 grant from Pacific Telesis Foundation, which also has underwritten a teachers’ workshop scheduled for today.
