Prime Motor Inns Files for Bankruptcy: Prime Motor Inns Inc., a Fairfield, N.J.-based hotel chain that once claimed to be the world’s second largest, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company’s stock, which sold for as high as $23 this year, fell 75 cents to close at 50 cents in heavy NYSE trading.
