Carpinteria 35, Santa Paula 0--Junior running back Fabrico Gonzalez rushed for 96 yards in only seven attempts and scored two touchdowns to lead Carpinteria to a rout at home. Carpinteria (1-1-1) ground out 323 yards.
Santa Paula (1-2) gained only 58 yards in 20 carries. Quarterback Ben Fausset completed eight of 32 passes for 95 yards with three interceptions. Freddy Torres gained 37 yards in nine carries to lead Santa Paula’s rushing game.
