Dutch Reject Request for More Troops

THE HAGUE — The Netherlands Defense Ministry said Wednesday that it has rejected a British request to send more troops to the Persian Gulf to strengthen the West’s alliance in the region against Iraq.
The British asked the Netherlands to contribute a chemical decontamination company of about 150 soldiers and an engineer support unit of similar size to the gulf effort.
