The fourth victim of the crash of a private plane in Aspen, Colo., was identified this morning as Jimoh Ade Yinka Yussuf, 34, of Santa Ana.
There were no survivors in the crash Monday, which also took the lives of Russell G. Lind, 52, of Newport Beach and Lawrence C. Barrett, 43, and his wife, Karolyn Virginia Barrett, both of Huntington Beach.
Authorities believe that Lawrence Barrett was the pilot and had taken off from the popular ski town en route to Orange County. Weather was clear at the time of the crash. The Cessna 210 veered off course during take-off and slammed into a nearby hill.
FAA and National Transportation Safety Board investigators were at the scene of the crash today, sifting through the wreckage.
“We don’t have anything right now,” said Norm Wiemeyer, chief of the board’s Denver field office. “By the end of the day, (inspectors) should have pretty well documented the wreckage.”
Lawrence Barrett had not filed a flight plan, FAA spokesman Mitch Parker said.
