James R. Miller has been appointed president and chief executive of Schaefer Dixon Associates Inc., an environmental, geological and engineering consulting firm in Irvine. He succeeds Schaefer Dixon, who remains as chairman. Before joining the company, Miller was president of Earth Technology Corp. in Long Beach.
