Danny Jackson Signs With Cubs

Pitcher Danny Jackson, who rebounded from a shoulder injury to help the Cincinnati Reds win the World Series championship, signed a four-year, $10.5-million contract Wednesday with the Chicago Cubs.
Jackson, who became a free agent after the World Series, has a 72-74 record and a 3.66 earned-run average. The left-hander was 6-6 for the Reds last season with a 3.61 ERA in 22 games.
The Cubs got a pitcher who was on the disabled list three times during the 1990 season. He was out in mid-April with a bruised left forearm and was out from July 18-Aug. 8 and Aug. 14-30 with stiffness in his left shoulder.
In postseason play, Jackson, 28, started three games and earned the victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in Game 3 of the National League playoffs.
