A new plan to pay for rehabilitation of the Colorado Street Bridge has been approved by the Pasadena Board of Directors.
The cost of restoring the 77-year-old bridge, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is now put at $27 million. Cost estimates have increased twice since 1988, when the figure was $15.8 million. The directors asked that any further changes be brought to them for approval.
Under the plan approved Tuesday, $12.6 million will come from federal discretionary bridge funds, $1 million from federal bridge rehabilitation funds, $7.5 million from federal Aid Urban funds and $5.9 million from the city.
