Japanese Get OK to Buy New Zealand Golf Links

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — The New Zealand government Friday conditionally allowed a Japanese investment firm to buy a premier golf course, overturning a ruling in September by the previous Labor government.
“Today I have given approval to the sale of the Wairakei Golf Course,” Lands Minister Rob Storey told a news conference. “Jobs, investment and an enhanced perception of New Zealand are major factors in this decision.”
