Vista to Merge With German Firm: Vista Chemical Co. of Houston said it will merge with the German company RWE-DEA in a $590-million cash deal. RWE-DEA will buy all of Vista’s outstanding common shares for $55 per share. Vista makes commodity and specialty chemicals used in a variety of products, including household laundry detergents, shampoos, home siding and wire and cable coatings. RWE-DEA is a subsidiary of RWE AG, a holding company involved in electricity, mining, oil and chemicals, machinery, construction and waste management.
