An 18-year-old Fillmore man died Saturday from injuries suffered in an October car crash, according to the coroner’s office.
Jeffrey Asenas, who suffered head and chest injuries in the Oct. 27 accident, had been in a coma at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks since then, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Asenas was a passenger in a car that careened off South Mountain Road near Santa Paula and plunged down a deep embankment.
The driver, Adrian Galvan, 18, of Oxnard was driving west near Balcom Canyon Road when he over-corrected on a curve and went off the side of the road, California Highway Patrol officials said.
Galvan and another passenger suffered minor injuries and were treated at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital.
