U.S. District Judge Leonard B. Sand in New York City denied Commissioner Fay Vincent’s motion to dismiss a lawsuit by Leonard L. Kleinman, executive vice president of the New York Yankees.

Kleinman was blocked by Vincent from succeeding George Steinbrenner as the team’s managing general partner because the commissioner was investigating Kleinman at the time. Kleinman later was cleared of any wrongdoing and is seeking damages from Vincent.
