COSTA MESA : College Trustees Choose President

The Coast Community College District Board of Trustees has elected Paul G. Berger as its new president, replacing Armando R. Ruiz.
Berger was first elected to the board in 1987 and also serves on the Orange County United Way board. He is a retired Huntington Beach Union High School administrator and lives in Costa Mesa.
Berger’s term lasts until December when the board will select a new president.
The board, at its December meeting, also elected Walter G. Howald as its vice president. Howald, an attorney, has served on the board since 1985. He has served three terms as president of the Coast Community College District’s Board of Trustees.
The Coast Community College District is composed of Coastline Community College, headquartered in Fountain Valley; Golden West College and KOCE-TV in Huntington Beach, and Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.
The district has 52,000 students.
