Other Shows in Jazz Society Series

Other acts scheduled for the San Diego Jazz Society’s series include progressive jazz pianist Glen Horiuchi (Feb. 9 at San Diego City College Theater); a quartet including pianist John Hicks and trombonist Garnett Brown (March 10 at Lyceum Stage Theatre); and vocalist Stephanie Haynes with the San Diego State University Jazz Ensemble (April 5 at SDSU’s Don Powell Theatre).
The society is presenting the concerts with a $13,000 grant from the San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture. In addition to the four scheduled shows, two free concerts will be presented in May and June. Horiuchi’s performance is also free.
Tickets for the shows are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Harris’ show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday.
