Pedestrian Crossing Street Is Hit by Car

BUENA PARK — An Anaheim woman who was crossing the street was critically injured Friday when she was struck by a car, police said.
Julia Gomez, 24, was crossing Beach Boulevard at 4th Street about 4:40 p.m. when she was hit by a 1986 Honda Civic traveling north, Buena Park Police Lt. James Schoales said.
Gomez was taken by helicopter to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was listed in critical condition Friday night.
The driver of the car, Gustavo Reza, 29, of Diamond Bar, was not hurt, Schoales said.
According to Schoales, Gomez was not at a crosswalk when the accident occurred. No citation was issued pending the results of an investigation, Schoales said.
