Running back Herschel Walker of the Minnesota Vikings got his first taste of a bobsled run at Lake Placid, N.Y. Walker and driver Brian Shimer covered the 1,430-meter Olympic bobsled course in 1 minute 2.03 seconds, about five or six seconds off what is considered a good run. Walker is vying for a position in the 1992 Olympics.
