English Leads USD Women Past Pepperdine

Christi English scored 23 points to lead the University of San Diego over Pepperdine, 83-69, in West Coast Conference women’s basketball Friday night. Chris Enger added eight points and 11 rebounds in the Toreras’ WCC opener at Pepperdine.
Shannon Frowles led Pepperdine scorers had 23 points for Pepperdine (7-8, 0-1).
USD, scoring its third consecutive win, improved its overall record to 6-8.
Point Loma Nazarene jumped out to a 20-point lead at halftime and coasted to a 66-47 nonconference victory over host Cal State San Bernardino. Freshman guard Christy Stevens led all scorers with 19 points for PLNC (10-5). Lisa Miller had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Crusaders. San Bernardino fell to 7-12.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Prime Ticket announced San Diego State’s women’s basketball game against Utah will be tape delayed at 11:30 p.m. The game, 7:30 p.m. at Peterson Gym, was originally to be aired live.
