ALBANY, N.Y. — Add another item to Gov. Mario M. Cuomo’s credentials: Girl Scout.
The Democrat was presented with a Girl Scout membership pin Tuesday in a state Capitol ceremony to announce state energy-saving programs.
“Do I have to sell cookies?” Cuomo asked.
The governor said he has paid for “at least 1,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies” from his three daughters, who are now grown.
“In my heart I’m a Girl Scout,” he said.
The Girl Scouts participated in the announcement because they are adopting an energy efficiency badge.
