STILL A NEED: County Red Cross officials hope to replenish their badly depleted blood supplies (above) in two or three days but warn that they need plenty more O-type donors streaming through the door as they did Tuesday (B1). . . . The shortage was linked with a drop in blood donations over the Christmas holidays, but officials say they don’t know of anyone’s being denied a transfusion because of it. Some local hospitals have their own blood banks, and the Red Cross can borrow from blood banks in other counties.
