Pete Melvin and Steve Rosenberg of Long Beach, sailing their repaired “Freedom Wing” catamaran for the Chula Vista Yacht Club, evened the best-of-seven Little America’s Cup challenge at 1-1 by defeating Australian defenders Simon McKeon and David Churcher by 1 minute 41 seconds at McCrae, Australia.
