Long Beach : Schools Offer First in Series of Latino Parent Meetings

The first in a series of conferences to encourage Latino parents to become more actively involved in their children’s education will be held Saturday.
The Latino Parent Education Conferences will feature information about school regulations, bilingual programs and participation in parent-teacher groups. The events are co-sponsored by the Long Beach Unified School District, the local chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens, the Assn. of Hispanic Educators in Long Beach and the Legal Aid Foundation of Long Beach.
The first free conference, which will be conducted in Spanish and English, begins at 9 a.m. at Webster Elementary School, 1755 W. 32nd Way.
