Police have identified the woman found dead in a Simi Valley bank parking lot Tuesday as a 44-year-old legal secretary from the northern part of the city.
Dorothy May Brinkley died of both blunt and sharp injuries to her head and neck, Craig Stevens of the Ventura County coroner’s office said Wednesday.
He would not disclose the approximate time of death or whether a weapon had been involved.
The Simi Valley Police Department is investigating her death as a homicide, Sgt. Jim Payne said.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert, 54, and a son, Chris Ladriene, 23, he said.
A passer-by spotted Brinkley’s body in her 1988 Mercury parked at Valley Federal Savings and Loan, 2390 Tapo St., about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
