About 50 high school coaches and administrators of the Los Angeles Unified School District met at the senior high division to discuss the impact year-round school will have on winter sports. Year-round school begins in July.
In an informal vote, coaches and administrators favored keeping the winter sports season intact, 24-10. There has been discussion of moving winter sports to a fall calendar because many schools will be closed for seven weeks in the winter.
Another public hearing on the matter will be held tonight at 6:30 at Grant High in Van Nuys.
