Biological Research Institute Elevates Executive Officer

Thomas B. Semler has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Institute for Biological Research and Development Inc. in Irvine, which was recently acquired by Kuraya Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.
Semler, who was previously an executive vice president and acting chief financial officer, assumes the additional responsibility for domestic sales. He was also named to the board of directors.
Prior to joining the company in 1983, Semler was executive vice president of Semler Associates, a financial and computer systems consulting firm.
