SRINAGAR, India — A grenade lobbed by Muslim militants exploded inside a sandbagged bunker Tuesday, killing four paramilitary troops and injuring three others, doctors said.
Police officials said the Hezbul Mujahedeen, a militant group fighting for Kashmir’s independence from India, claimed responsibility for the killings.
After the attack, a curfew was imposed in the Lal Chowk area of Srinagar, the largest town in the Kashmir valley and the center of the secessionist movement.
