Brad Stammer of Irvine High School has orally committed to play football at the University of the Pacific, according to Irvine Coach Terry Henigan.
Stammer, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker, had been recruited by several schools, including San Diego State, Nevada Las Vegas, Idaho State and Oregon. Stammer, an all-South Coast League selection last season, was a two-year starter and an all-league honorable mention pick as a junior.
Volleyball player Michelle Mauney of El Toro has committed to play for UCLA, El Toro Coach Mike Jagd said.
Mauney, a 6-3 middle blocker, was the South Coast League’s most valuable player and was a member of the all-Southern Section first team.
