Kirkpatrick on Nicaragua
Kirkpatrick points to two unsolved murders in Nicaragua in the last four months in calling for the replacement of the army and police chief. Most neutral observers, on the other hand, have praised the Nicaraguan security forces for their refusal to follow the Central American mode of violent oppression of the population.
Kirkpatrick supports the security forces of El Salvador. Their brutal murder of the Jesuits and many thousands of other Salvadorans gives us a glimpse of the kind of death-squad security forces she would like to see installed in Nicaragua.
