Craig Fields has been promoted to president and chief executive of Microelectronics & Computer Technology Corp., the Austin, Tex.-based research consortium aimed at improving U.S. technological competitiveness. Fields, former director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, joined MCC as president, chief technical officer and chief operating officer in July, 1990. Fields succeeds Grant Dove, who will continue to serve as MCC’s chairman.
