COLLEGE BASKETBALL : NCAA TOURNAMENT REPORT : PACIFIC 10 : Oregon’s Brandon Is Player of Year

Terrell Brandon of Oregon, a 6-foot junior guard from Portland who averaged 26.6 points to lead the Pacific 10 Conference in scoring, has been named conference player of the year in a vote of the Pac-10’s coaches.
UCLA and USC each had two players named to the 10-man all-conference team, Don MacLean and Tracy Murray representing UCLA and Ronnie Coleman and Harold Miner representing USC. MacLean and Miner were repeat selections from last season.
Forward Jamal Faulkner of Arizona State was named freshman of the year, and Kelvin Sampson of Washington State was named coach of the year.
UCLA’s Shon Tarver was named to the all-freshman team.
