Thatcher Tries Out a B-2: Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher climbed into the cockpit of Northrop Corp.’s B-2 Stealth bomber during a tour of Edwards Air Force Base. She also spoke to thousands of B-2 workers at Northrop’s Palmdale plant. The B-2 is “one of the most significant defense technological breakthroughs of this century and an awesome deterrent to aggression around the world,” she told the workers. Thatcher was on a three-day tour of Los Angeles and Orange counties.
