The Foreign Ministry denied reports that Ethiopia halted emigration of black Jews to Israel to press Jerusalem to supply military aid. Ethiopian community leaders in Israel had said that Ethiopia halted the emigration to obtain Israeli weapons for its civil war. But the Foreign Ministry said that technical difficulties, now resolved, had cut the flow and that there was no connection with weapons.
