A Diamond Bar youth was shot and killed Sunday as he drove his car past a Pomona park, police said. Lattus McNeely was shot as he drove near Holt Avenue and Hamilton Boulevard, said Pomona police Sgt. Frank Holder.
“He was the driver of the vehicle in the vicinity of Hamilton Park at about 10:18 last night, with two friends, when shots were fired at the victim,” Holder said.
The park is turf claimed by a local street gang, said Holder, adding that he did not know if McNeely was a gang member. Another Pomona officer said the victim was apparently in his late teens. The passengers in McNeely’s car apparently were uninjured. There were no arrests in connection with the shooting.
