Grasselli Signs to Play Volleyball at Syracuse

Tina Grasselli of Woodbridge High School has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Syracuse this fall.
Grasselli, a 6-foot setter, said she chose Syracuse over San Jose State.
Although she never visited Syracuse, she decided to go there because the school offered her a full scholarship. San Jose State offered a partial scholarship.
Grasselli visited San Jose State, Rhode Island, Hofstra and Oklahoma last fall.
“I’ve been busy with my club team (Orange County Volleyball) and I didn’t have time to visit Syracuse,” she said. “It came down to Syracuse and San Jose, and Syracuse came up with the better offer.”
Grasselli led Woodbridge to an 11-5 record and the quarterfinals of the Southern Section 5-A playoffs. She made honorable mention on The Times’ all-county team last fall.
