Redgrave has been “dumped” from the hit play “Lettice & Lovage,” the Feb. 19 Morning Report says in quoting the New York Post. Redgrave is one of the first ladies of the British state, a doyenne of world theater, one of the finest actresses of our time--and The Times says dumped--as in load of trash . For shame! Respect is due.
About persons being fired because of political views: This is America. We live with a stain on our conscience for a time when wonderful people were fired because of their politics.
Ed Murrow broke that tyranny and now the (producing) Shubert Organization has again raised the ugly specter of McCarthyism.
