I’ll go along on free trade with Mexico if we can find work for the U.S. people who will lose their jobs. I doubt many of the millions of Mexicans in poverty will feel the benefits of free trade.
Mexico’s economic prosperity will not be a cure-all for our illegal immigration problems. Tamper-proof IDs similar to California’s new driver’s license are needed for all legal immigrants or all eligible to work in the U.S. This is one relatively simple solution.
