Sergei Pyzhyanov of the Soviet Union won the gold medal in the men’s air pistol at the World Cup USA competition in Chino. Fifth-place finisher Franck Du Moulin of France set a junior world record by shooting a 680.9. Sixth-place Eduardo Suarez was the highest U.S. finisher.
In women’s air pistol, Marina Logyinenko of the Soviet Union came from seventh place to win.
