Nursing Care Goes Beyond the Patient

Your article about the loving, high-quality nursing care at Children’s Hospital of Orange County is well deserved (“Caring, Not Curing,” March 6).
The contribution of nurses to medical care is not properly rewarded. Not only do they provide the moment-to-moment care of the patients and support the parents, they also often support the physicians through emotionally loaded situations.
